Moment of Truth Dispatch
Article Art Work
Moment of Truth Dispatch, a Substack publication, needed dynamic visuals to accompany its articles and extend its presence across social media. The goal was to create assets that would stand out in fast-moving feeds while capturing the critical, urgent tone of the writing.

Design Mechanics
The collateral design leaned into a bold collage aesthetic, combining large, assertive typography with a palette of bright, high-contrast colors. Each piece incorporated vintage cut-out elements—figures, objects, and textures—that layered visual history into contemporary messaging. This approach gave the designs both a raw, handmade energy and a sharp digital finish, bridging past and present.
Layouts prioritized legibility and impact: oversized text delivered key article titles or pull quotes at a glance, while collage textures and imagery created intrigue and emotional resonance. The mix of retro elements with bold modern design choices made the assets highly shareable across platforms.

Impact
Before this visual strategy, the publication’s articles had limited reach outside the Substack platform. The new collateral gave Moment of Truth Dispatch a distinct, recognizable brand voice on social media, amplifying its reach and encouraging engagement. Posts stood out in crowded timelines, drawing readers back to the full articles and reinforcing the site’s identity as both intellectually rigorous and visually daring.

Narrative and Significance
The collage collateral served as more than illustration—it became an extension of the Dispatch’s editorial voice. The layered cut-outs and bold color choices echoed the publication’s commitment to examining complexity and contradiction, while the strong typography conveyed urgency and clarity. Together, these elements built a visual identity that matched the site’s mission: confronting the moment with honesty, boldness, and creative edge.
